Moving date set!

So, the fireplace is in (and it's lovely) and progress is currently being had! We have set the moving in date as well! St. Patrick's Day! Well, I'm working, but will have boxes packed and ready! I hope! :) Also just realised that my exams are in 3 months! Well, part exams! I have another year to go after that to finish the course. I am however off work in July and am very excited. A total break! Gardening work perhaps? A trip to Edinburgh is on the cards, as we haven't been back since we moved over to Belfast. A lot to be excited about but a lot of work ahead as well. The kitchen arrives in 9 days!!! WOHOO!

Well, Valentine's day isn't for me. I did make R a card though. Inside it said something about a Ninja :) Talking about Val's day, I found something in the street this afternoon which seemed fitting... And took a picture of it. Now, here's the thing... My camera won't connect to the laptop. Yay. So I had to take a picture of the camera showing the picture. You with me? Here it is:

And! Our first room in the house is completed! Will post pictures at a later stage when I get on the real computer. The one which isn't a stinking MAC! :D It's the dressing room anyway, and it has wallpaper and floor and everything! AND a wardrobe! How nice. Now we just need to complete another... err... 7 rooms! But they are all in progress, and 3 more are almost done too. So, happy days!

More news! I also got offered a job today at a local bistro. Friday evenings and Saturday daytime. On my doorstep basically as well! Am a happy puppy as one of the owners who conducted the interview was very nice. I start on Friday too! YAAAAAY! Finally, some structure in my life! AWESOME! And R only works 1 out of 5 Sundays so I will have a whole day off with him every week almost. The Saturday dayshift also allows him some time to himself, god knows I don't really give him enough of that commodity! Toodle doo, need to watch Call The Midwife and feel a tiny bit sorry for myself as I have a shitty cold :) Otherwise life rocks!!

Good way to start the week, going for dinner at our favorite restaurant in Belfast thus far, no27 Talbot St. Did I hear a Yay? Anyway, have some stuff to do before tonight. Boring. Like going to the doctor people to blow into some tubes. How can a cough last from November? And only when I lie down? Hmm. Anyway, here's a picture of my favorite food of all time, from the deepest and darkest part of Lapland!

Tomorrow is for the poor!

Yeah...so...I'm trying to study, have time to work on the house a little bit, look for jobs AND play Skyrim. I'm barely managing here! Skyrim wants MORE TIME!

Tomorrow however, we are going to buy the kitchen and the sofas. We are going to be poor... :(
But it's a lovely kitchen! The house is coming on, slowly but surely as ever, and R is putting so many hours into it. I feel so guilty for not being there as much as him! I just don't know how to do much of the stuff he does, and what he enjoys to do, I despise doing. Well, getting the house decorated must count for something? I have probably spent a weeks worth of working hours just trawling through the web for inspiration and narrowing down-ing of things. But we are getting there. Can't wait really. I have a feeling that these last few 5-7 or so weeks will be the hardest... I am going a bit mad.

Got new specs yesterday! My eyes have been itching the devil out of me for a month or so, an update of the prescriptive kind was in order. I love my contact lenses and the WORST thing with glasses is that since my eyes are extremely bad... My eyes look TINY from an observer point of view. Eurgh. But I'm trying to make the best of a bad situation here folks! :D No more contact lenses for a month!

These are my old specs. Fairly cool and neutral.

New specs! GO GO GEEKDOM! I love them though. The field of vision is so much more suited for me than my old ones.!!!

PLUS! I can get pretend I'm a crazy professor!!!!! Woop woop!

Now I just have to get used to wearing glasses again. They are done especially for my astigmatism, but in my contact I just wore another 0.25 on top of my prescription to make up for it... Poor head!!!! It takes some getting used to, this spectacle-wearing business!!

Don't have time to write much again, I used to have lots of time, now it's a commodity!
It's almost cool being this grown up! Until you realize how much money it costs, then you're like 'neeeeh'....

The house is doing ok, the boys (R and his dad) have been plumbing and re-wiring for dear life whilst R's mom has been filling in holes and painting etc. Don't know what we would have done without them! I'm still in the process of stripping walls. And I've found wallpaper for most of the new rooms! The one for the dressing room is so awesome!!!! Otherwise, still studying and shit. Working some too. Can't wait for the holidays though, 22nd of December we jet off to the white, white snow of home! Lycksele and Umea! My personal goal and new years resolution however, is to have a holiday somewhere new!

Gardening; Obstacle one - Gone!

Today was an easy day in Tech, royalty were coming to 'cut the ribbon' on the new school so everything was shut off. We all went home 4 hours early. Score!

Once I got home and changed, I went straight over to my house. :) (Feels so good to say that!) Today was dry so some gardening was on the schedule.

I tidied the greenhouse (SPIDERS THE SIZE OF YOUR PALM!!!) and now it looks a whole lot better. Some stuff must've been there forever, disintegrating in my hand and all. Yuck. Anyway, covering our garage wall WAS a huge bushy hedgy tree thing. Me and R tore the shit down and cut it all to pieces. Hard bleeping work!

Once we got it wrestled down on the ground we hid it in the corner of the garden. :)
We also got rid of all the other bushes in this particular area. Score.
Then I found the stone path! By 'found' I mean working my ass off to get rid of the moss and grass covering it. Looks great now though! This was rounded off by some grout-scraping in the kitchen. (Otherwise known as the shithole.) My camera was dead today so will try to get some pictures of the work in progress tomorrow. Oh, and I found about 50 snails hiding behind the bushy hedge thingy. They were awesome, but they some of them had the sex in my hand. All covered in snail-sex-juju-juice. Eurgh. Anyway, my boring update is at an end. Peace. ;)

Don't have much time even to scratch my own arse. Good thing is that I usually make myself time. Squeeze in a few hours here and there to catch up on Dexter and Downton Abbey for example.
I'm working, studying and wrecking our house! Chores not to take lightly, people! I never realised how few hours there are in a day! I know people say they wish there were more hours than 24 in any given day and I now know what they mean! I would really like to have more hours in the end of any weekday, to watch some TV, have a long nice shower and just relax. I do these things anyway, just in a rather more compact version.

Oh, and the MTV EMA's were on here. I didn't go to the outdoor concert as I wasn't in the mood. I had just gotten some bad news (No one died :P) so was generally un-dancy. Anyway, the TV version of the EMA's sucked balls. The good things were the 2 concerts held in the Ulster Hall (Red Hot Chilli Peppers) and outside City Hall (Jason Derulo, Boyce Avenue & Snow Patrol). Heard the City Hall kicked some booty! Still thankful I didn't have to go. To my point! 30 Seconds To Mars! AWESOME! I've fleetingly heard them but never actually listened. So thank you MTV for my new obsession! ;) Jared Leto, as adorable as ever! :P

Right, back to studying cell structure! Interesting subject actually!

Tomorrow the EMA's are being held next to my school.
Great.
I have tickets to the City Hall concert but I really don't want to go after seeing the set up!
Absolutely outrageously bad! The stage is set outside City Hall looking down the main shopping street. That's all great but there's a bloody TV TOWER IN THE BLOODY MIDDLE! It keeps all but about 1000 people out of 15,000 from actually seeing anything on the stage.With all the parks and areas they could have held it, why there? Poor show, MTV!

Anyway. Going. But not looking forward to it. :/

DIY haven

So, we have our house! And most people seem to think we are moving in.
WROOOONG! TOTALLY AND UTTERLY WRONG!
Just because you have a house doesn't mean it's fit to be lived in! Especially since the last owners had been in it since the 60's like! TOTAL RENOVATION! All rooms need renewed plus re-wiring and plumbing. Not to mention the pipes we have to dig holes for and connect to the garage. Phew!!
So, no, we are not moving in this year.
However, bedroom 1 is stripped and prepped. Bathroom is almost fit for fight since we are holding on a bit to do that properly, about a year or so. New lino and some paint will do the job. Mint green suite? Yes please! HAHAHAHA! Can't wait to get rid of that one fine day!

2 points of happiness:
1. The owners left an old radiogram. A His Master's Voice one at that! And it works! HOW RETRO!
2. The neighbors were throwing out OLD leather suitcases. I asked if I could have them and they said yes! SWEET!

House + Me = Love. Although I already can't wait for it to be ready :)

Well, today I was going to school....
Turns out the class isn't actually on. It doesn't exist. So...first day is Wednesday! Found that out in the non existing class. Whoopsie!

But that is rather good, wednesdays and thursdays will be my school days and then study day sometime in the week. That and I got a good look around the school as well. It's just been opened (in the Titanic quarter) so we will all be in the same boat so to speak.

Castlewellan!

Today we got to see the house again! An architect was with us and I was running around measuring.
I am sort of designing it, if it shall be ours, so it was quite important actually!
I still love the house and so look forward to spending the next few years in it with my R! :)

After the house we pretty much went to Castlewellan straight away. There is an orienteering group that goes around week to week and my in laws asked me if I wanted to come with them.
We stopped in Maghera and had some pub food but then the heavens opened! THUNDER AND LIGHTNING! It went on for ages and we thought we had to turn around and go home again.
But when we get to Castlewellan castle the sun sneaks out from behind the clouds and the rain lifts. Amazing! Anyway, pictures to follow tomorrow for you who don't have my facebook!

No more gym this week!

So, I still have my gym card.
Haven't been too self disciplined, especially since I got home from my holiday...
But as a countermeasure against laziness, I have gone to the gym 3 times this week already.
So I don't have to go anymore now! Well, until Monday that is. YES! *fist pump*

This Friday we are going to a charity Wine & Cheese evening and Saturday is BBQ party day.
I hope you understand by now why I have to go to the gym. And nowadays I have to go regularly.
GONE are the days of eating 2 litres of ice cream in one sitting. (teenager antics)
GONE are the days of an unrestricted intake of fizzy pop.
GONE are the days of not caring.

It's sad, but it has to happen! A lot of people are skinny until they grow up.
I was 22 when weight found me. Luckily enough I was quite poor and couldn't afford good, fat-urated food. But NOW! I can afford yummy, scrumptious food! But my body sucks up more of the bad stuff.
Everyone that knows me, knows that I love my food. And I still want to love my body. So... easy choice :)

Anyway, I'm ranting now!

Wohoo!
So, I'm starting school beginning of September.
Enrollment will hopefully be end of next week! It will be a 2 year course to eventually get me in to University. By that time I might also know what I want to do with my life!

Housewise, we are brainstorming ideas for interior design and the mortgage application is being processed. Now we just need to wait! Solicitor appointed, financial adviser appointed, mortgage chosen. Wait wait wait. I don't mind waiting now though!!! It's all quite exciting!

So things are happening and it's all good for now.

Well, as I said last night, there are good things happening!
Some things were not expected but here we are and now we have to get the ball rolling!

Step 1 - Sale Agreed - DONE
Step 2 - Get mortgage, survey and solicitor stuff done
Step 3 - Get keys!

Well, we are only a little bit on the way but I am hopeful and positive.
It will still be about 8 weeks or so if it all goes right but I can't wait to get stuck in to it and transform the now quite "old" house into a shell and into a R and M haven! ;) If it all goes right we might be able to move in around Christmas or even earlier. It shall all be revealed! Now, if stuff goes wrong I WILL cry my eyes out and curse all things living and dead, but I won't think about that possibility. Heh. Whatever happens happens! GO HOUSE!

Today is a good day!
I am now officially on holiday and we have booked tickets for Xmas!

Well, the weather is nice enough and things are fine. But I'm just tired and worried again.
Not very worried, just that voice in your head that whispers softly... and evil-ly!
My knees have been aching a bit and for most people that is fine!
When it happens to me I get worried though. Worried that I will get sick again. So, I take it super easy and do bugger all. So, that's why I'm boring.

Anyway, I'm lucky because I'm not bad off, some people with AOSD can't even bloody walk and I work part time and can enjoy myself without suffering too much from it.

But the list above actually shows the thoughts I, MYSELF, struggle with.

I'm still not at the point where I can go "Fine, I'm sick", because most of the time I don't feel it.

I constantly think to myself that I have to get more exercise, get out more, be more positive... and yeah, it does work in your head for a little while. I keep thinking "Maybe if I would do more, the sickness would go away!" Doesn't really work for the body however.

Today I have been going through periods of tiredness where I have just wanted to lay down and sleep but I know fine well it wouldn't have made me feel any better. It's a different tired. You know when you're little and you have been literally running about all day and by bedtime you feel like a zombie? That's sort of how I can feel, without doing much. It's annoying. And I always think I'm imagining it. However, think it may be time to accept what is and not be scared anymore. 'Cos I'm scared. Scared of the future. I don't know if I'm going to be worse or better in 10 years. I know nothing at all! All I know is that if I don't enjoy my present it doesn't matter what the future is like!

But anyway, I think I'm going to take it easy until my holidays! Just for good measure!

Happeningness of life!

Well, since last time (last week! Yikes!) I have been working hard and trying to live life.
Can't even really remember what I've been up to, apart from trying to get a house.
On Saturday we went charity shopping again! I found some awesome stuff, I can now call myself Master of Second hand Shopping. An awesome Jaeger blouse for £6.50, not worn (silk), a warehouse top (silk) for £3, Mango Jeans £3, leather handbag from Clarks £2.99. YAY I SAY!
Also, Saturday and Sunday have been scorching! Wohoo summer is here! Not... Rain is predicted for the rest of this week! But I managed to get myself an itty bitty tan at least.
The boys watched the fight on TV and the girls went to see Bridesmaids! Good movie!

We also had a cool BBQ on Saturday. So...that's it I think!

For Sunday, garden day and I also went in to town to get some bits and pieces...

Anyway, it's a nervous week this week! EEK! :)

Chillifest and another birthday!

Tickle in my throat bug!

DAMN YOU VIRUSES!
Turns out I have a tickle in my throat-virus. One that makes it feel like I have a hair permanently residing in my upper throat.
I've never had one before so this below is an account of what I did the first 3 days (!) before I knew it was a virus, not a foreign object, which lived in my pipes.

I was sleeping on the first day, unawares that the virus had inhabited me... Yeah, I always sleep like that. Yupp.

Then I woke up! *scary music*

Later in the day - "Oh, that's uncomfortable in my throat. What is that? Hmm..."

Even later on - "I'm not liking this one bit! GET IT OUT OF MY PIPE!"

End of day 1 - Ah. Mr. Pen. So we meet again.

This time Mr. Pen, you can be of use to me!

Poke poke poke in my throat! EXPELIAMUS EVIL THING IN MY THROAT!

Oh my god, can't believe I just did that, I know taste ink and plastic and IT'S STILL THERE!

The thing with body image...

As we all know, body image is more of an issue nowadays than (I think) it ever has been.
Everyone is too short, too tall, too skinny, too chubby, too loose, too taut, too tanned, too pale.
There doesn't seem to be a decent "middle ground" where people are allowed to feel comfortable with themselves.
Apart from when you are a model and your body brings in the dough. Those girls are quite skinny and now accepted as a "norm". I happen to not really agree with this.

I'm from Sweden but I live in the UK and I have found that the perception of "normal" varies quite a lot depending on where you live.
Swedes are generally a healthier bunch but the pressure back home to be skinny and tanned sometimes seems a bit extreme. For example, I'm 170cms tall and I weigh around 67-70kgs depending on the day. I'm not skinny skinny but I'm not chubby either, in my opinion. Not in the UK's opinion either, generally.
But in July I am going home to Sweden and there, I will be seen as chubby or fat.
I think Swedes have lost perspective a little bit to be honest.

This is me. On good days I don't think it's that bad.
But I believe in making the best of what you have.
For example, I think I suit dresses and heels...

It looks quite good. Legs look longer and whatever curves I have are accentuated nicely.

The problem is, you can never escape from people being judgemental.
I dread going back home because Swedes seem to thing it's their god given right to comment on people's bodies and appearance. And this scares me. Swedes and their narrow views on what is healthy and pretty and what is not. I have managed to build my self esteem up but very slowly and it's not yet at a level where I would be able to shrug negative comments off.

First of all, my body build is not made for being tall and skinny.

* This is my build and I am learning to accept it and like it.

* I have always been heavier than I look (Muscles? Don't know why actually.) but I gain weight very evenly which is a great asset!

* I get curves when I am at my ideal weight, which I personally think is right now.

* I believe in making the best of what you have got.

So I don't know what to do really. Maybe I'm worrying about nothing.

Maybe Swedes aren't all skinny, tanned and blonde anymore? I should know...

I just need to keep on truckin' and don't give a crap I think. I'll give it a go anyway.

Had a very good time the other night. Was naturally punished for it on Sunday as well but that's just what happens I guess! I'm just not used to it since the last time I was seriously hungover was...October?? If I remember correctly. I have actually been behaving. And that's what is going to happen from now on. Behaviour! I think I have punished my liver enough for this year.

Anyway, I found out that that mirror I bought is seriously flattering! I so love it!
And for 20 quid... yeeeeessss!

I'm happy!
I don't know why but it feels like everything is all coming together.
I am even beginning to love my own body, that's quite amazing for a female these days!
It may be because I have finally accepted my fate. It might be because I am exercising. It might be because of a change of meds. I don't know. Maybe all of those!
But all I know is that I am where I want to be in life right now, I am who I want to be, and that is an amazing feeling!!! Go me!

(I still wouldn't pass up a lottery win or something hehe)

Right. I have been a member of the local minigym for the last month and a half, or so...
You know the picture you have of yourself in your head? The one where you envisage yourself stepping out to the beach slim and sparkly, almost new, after a few months in the gym?
NEEEEEE!

Totally wrong.
I had my suspicions before. I mean, my legs are quite short and I always had muscle....
But now they have been confirmed!
I am built for POWER, not for SPEED!!!

I mean, I am not even exercising my arms very much and I've still ended up like a beef!!

I'm kissing my guns, LOL! (And my pits are shaved, they're just dark haha)

Anyway, as you can see, I'm not exactly becoming the next bambi-legged amazon goddess of Belfast.

More like... Berta. From Russia.

But I actually quite like it. When I got Still's Disease I was quite scared that I would never be able to exercise, and I couldn't either, for a very long time. But now it's MY TIME! Yay!!!

And I will make the most of it. After a few weeks of lazy I have been to the gym 3 times this week. Mostly crosstrainer, to not be bad to my knees, but also a mix of rowing machine, vibrating machine and manual exercises. Bits and pieces. Not too much at once, just nicely spread out.
I'm actually liking this fitness stuff!!!

Back to reality

Whenever I have time to blog I always want to be in the mood to write something really clever, something people can read and go "aaahh, oooh!" to. And I would like a themed blog or something, so people can love me and stuff. Find their way back etc.

But I never do. And I couldn't do a theme.
I'm usually conked out in bed trying to relax myself when I have time to blog and so my head keeps to the most superficial subjects I can possibly muster. Like clothes. And beer. And food. But I like lots of other things.
I like nature, I can get quite irate about the state of this planet, but I don't really advertise it here.
I like drawing, but alas, tiredness makes drawing a chore rather than a pleasure so I don't do it as often as I should.
I like music. I like listening to new music and discovering new favourite songs but I am drawn to 70'-90s music a lot of the time. No Aquapop though. I'm a rather grungy, indie, hippie, synthpop kind of girl. ;)
A bit of everything really then.
I like the supernatural. Ghosts and shiz. No, I don't think they are gonna haunt me or anything, but I am fascinated by energy and what it can actually do. I would like to research energy some day!
I like reading. Like, books.
I like makeup.
I like lots of stuff but I don't like anything the most I guess.
At the moment I'm just a bit...indifferent. And I can't be bothered blogging either.

That's probably why.

So that's why I'm hoping for some intelligence to pop back into my head when I *hopefully* start studying in September. Had a pre-assessment today and it all went well! Will be studying in the brand spanking new building in the Titanic Quarter too! Nice. Will be neighbours with R! ;)

I need some dinner now!

Anniversary Week :D

Hellu!

This week has been lots of awesome!

First of all I won tickets to the Tennents Vital launch party (where they revealed the headliner - Eminem)
Free bar! Not often you get one of those these days! Was quite fun and after we went to see a friend who was working in a restaurant nearby. Turns out Chris de Burgh was eating in there, right behind us. The funny part is, I was wearing a bright red dress. Oh the fun :D Fun for me. Maybe not for him haha!
I'm the lady in red! (He is...erm...quite ugly.)

Next day, Thursday, we went for dinner at no. 27 Talbot Street.
I had bought a livingsocial deal for about £30, getting starters, mains and a drink each.
We ended up having breads to start in addition, and a cheeseboard after too. It was all gorgeous!
R had soup, then pasta. The soup was lovely, but men should never order pasta in a restaurant! Slightly disappointing compared to my main but was nice pasta none the less. They had even peeled the beans!
I had whipped goats cheese with fig, olives, endive, pea shoots and rocket to start. NOM I SAY!
Then Fritto Misto for mains, with a spicy mango sauce and red chili plus some leafy stuff.
MORE NOM! Then we shared a cheeseboard and some port.
When they brought the cheese I though someone had let one go, I was convinced, I could smell something rotten! Then I realised that it was one of the cheeses. :) But it was absolutely lovely with some pear chutney on top!

What about Friday then? We actually just watched TV and made up a fire. We made the fire all weekend actually, which was lovely, as the weather has been quite rugged the last few days! (But as ususal we got sunshine on the 29th, as we always do)

Saturday was great, we woke up and went in to town for a visit to the continental market. We bought fudge and big fat donuts, fruli, polish sausage and continued in to the city for a browse.
Later we did the presenty thing, I got R a butcher's block-like chopping board and he got me a dalmatian jasper bracelet I had pointed out in the continental market earlier. :D
Dinner was everything from sundried tomatoes and mozza to breads and dips. Gorge!
Then we shared some wine and talked away until it was time to sleep!

Sunday was lunchtime, we went to take advantage of another deal I had bought so we got a sharing platter, 2 burgers and 2 pints for £16 quid. Already bought as well so didn't have to pay a penny! Love it! We did tip though ;). After this we went to see Thor in 3D. It was actually very good and I welcome the presence of Stellan Skarsgard in the movie. No, the mythology was not as the one I know, but it was rather a novel take on the stories! I really enjoyed it but did not see the point of having Nathalie Portman drooling all over the screen! Oh well, anything for a sequel!

And that was that! The best week ever!
Can't wait to have many more! 4 years down, lots to go!

I have nothing much to say these days...
But yesterday I had a really nice drink! For one who doesn't drink much or often I quite enjoyed my 4 Stella Cidres. (Bad me, but didn't actually get even slightly tipsy. Not sure my liver will be grateful though)

At first I thought someone had poured some lager into a batch of cider, but after a few sips I really got the Cidre bug and wanted to drink it forever! Kopparberg is not for me (HELLO ALCOPOP! Shouldn't even be allowed to be called cider) Magners can be rather dry and boring and Bulmers .... Neeeee. Don't like it.

But I foresee myself drinking these in the coming summer eves with dreamy eyes and a happy face.

It's sweet, but not too sweet for me, refreshing and it actually wets your mouth, not dry and horrid!

Yay for finding a drink that I like and that likes me! Apart from Crabbie's Ginger Beer, that's the king of drinkies! Guinness isn't totally unappreciated either. Or some Belfast Lager or Belfast Black, nomnom! Hmm, I actually like a lot of drinks! Yay me then! Summer is saved!

I have been rather busy today..
Physio to start off, then a visit to the GP clinic. Then home to change and Gym. Walked to the shop and got home, showered and had a late lunch. Phew.

We are looking at a a rather cottage-y house today, unfortunately it's on a "main" road.
Time will tell if it's worth the noisy!

Also looking at dates for going to Sweden at Xmas. Really looking forward to having a nice christmas in Lapland with the reindeer and all that. WOHOO!

I've always been a fan of sweets. When I found some lovely jellyish ones in a Co-op on a dull winter day my happiness was unquestionable.

Then I never found them again.
Until yesterday!
Now, I can't eat very many of them in a row... Sweet tooth being a literal description of my teeth.
Sweet things make them hurt. And no, they're fine, just sensitive.
But anyway, I was quite pleased. They're from The Natural Confectionery Co, who in my opinion, make the best jellyish (Fruit flavoured gums) sweets in the UK. They're not just any kind though... they're DINOSAURS!
Why settle for worms and stuff when you can have dinos, I ask you?
Nomnom nom.
My favourites are the big ones. See picture. In an attempt to show the true scale of the sweet I stuck it in my eye. It sort of works.

And I went for that interview today for the opticians.
I think it went well until I mentioned I was gonna study in September and onwards.

I have 3 wisdomteeth. Now a 4th is rearing it's ugly head!
Bastard! I have never had trouble with any before now but this 4th is truly spawned from the Devil's calcium deposits!! AOOOWWW! Ok, so I have to get an appointment with the dentist. Like...yesterday.
Will try to get through tomorrow.

Now for the non-moaning section.
Had first proper day of work today! And it was alright! Still a bit anxious about it, being a new place and all... I really want the place to do well so I can have the job for a while.
Seems like I have already given up on the opticians which I am interviewing for on Thursday but that is only because of the studying I intend to do... Sure, if they would be ok with me doing half time after September then fine. But I'm not sure they will approve. And they might not like my trip to Sweden either. Whereas my new current job is fine with that! I can even go home for xmas! How good is that!!!!!!

The house was alright. HUGE! But the structural damage was too much. We wouldn't be able to fix it. But do not despair! Plenty of fish in the sea and I have already arranged a viewing for next week for a house that was ALMOST sold. Happy days! It's nice too. Just by the main road mind you, but nice none the less.

Went to the Physio this morning and need to go back next week already! Urgh!

It's raining today! Finally! I know, I shouldn't be yay-ing the rain, but it's just nice to sit and listen to it.

I just had to put this photo in. For some reason the best way I can express "love" in a picture is to lick it. Problems expressing myself? No way Jose! :D

Anyway, got my books. Reading 'A Game of Thrones' now and I love it.
Well, I love the series...but I also love how the first bit of the book is how I saw it on TV.
Sometimes directors take 'artistic interpretations' a bit far and well... it ends up like True Blood.
What was season 2 all about? That was crap. Not at all like the book. The relationship between the main characters? Don't even get me started!

Game of Thrones, do me proud!

I had also ordered Water for Elephants which I have lent to my mother-in-law. (Not in law yet but ya'know.) Good times. AND I have a trial shift tomorrow in a cafe. A nice one. Not like the last hellhole.

I never told you what happened.
My previous employer called me to say that he has stolen 3 months holiday pay from me (In my opinion). Basically.
So, I'm getting someone representing me to talk to this person.
I shall see what happens.
Thing is, I worked hard for them on bloody minimum wage and I expect not to be treated like shit.
I know my rights and if someone feels like ignoring them, it's not my fault if they get upset.
It's the principle, not the money.
A few important people in my life have been lost because of the principle.
But I always obeyed the principle.

So, I'm hoping for this new job. It's nice. And good hours too. I need a job with some kind of routine when it comes to hours or else I get rather tired. :P
I want things to start working out for us. It's our turn now!

Springhill and Photogenifiqueness

So, yesterday was brilliant and I think even more so because I didn't expect it to be.
The sun was beaming and even though the wind was quite cruel at times, the walls surrounding the main house were great windbreakers and saved us all!

I flipped through some wartime mags! Quite interesting really! It suggested to me that I could not say 'No', helped me become the ideal wife and tested my capabilities.

Funny stuff actually!

I've never been known for being very photogenic. Never will I be.
But this is the effort it takes to even get a decent picture! :D

Number 1. Just not ready for action. Hair looking remarkably OK though.

Number 2. Eh? Just looks weird. Hair going flatter.

Number 3. Got fed up. Hair losing it.

Number 4. Well.... Check yourself before you wreck yourself as they say. Looks photoshopped.

Number 5. ITS WINDY! My eyes can not stay open! It's like a CURSE! Hair is now beyond help.

Number 6. Windy and eyes closed. Great. Hair seems like it has been dipped in bucket of entrails and fluffers. Flat and tangly.

Number 7. Grumpy face on but have at this stage lost any patience with posing and wants to call it a day. Hair shite and Marina is ready for some unpretentious chatter. Bye camera, I hate your guts. :)

We actually went to a "War Re-enactment Day". And I rather enjoyed it.
It was sunny, they put it all up on Springhill Estate which is very lovely and we brought a picnic too!

Today has been a LOVELY day outside.
Apart from my first migraine... Well, it's not huge by any means... but I've been having ocular migraines for a while, maybe a year and haven't had headaches with them before. Until today! Yay! Not. :P

Annoying enough to annoy, and put you off moving too much, but not enough to warrant feeling sorry for yourself. Baaaaaaaah!

Anyway, things could be worse.

But today something weird came up.
A pr0n site was a referring URL. I don't actually understand.

However, I shan't find that out, since I actually don't want to soil my MacBook with vag*nas. It's innocence will be kept intact.
Anyway, that is the mystery of the day.

This is me today. I am officially hiding from the sun. I really wish that it could just pour down for one single day so I wouldn't feel guilty about staying inside! Because, as everyone knows, if you stay inside when the sun's out... You will go to HELL! Or something similar. Well, everyone will think you're an idiot at least.

Ho hum, I got a sleep-in anyway so that should not be played down though! It's a very much sought after luxury for some! Like gold. Or water. Or chocolate. It's nice. But there's still that guilt.... Grrr... :)

We are going to look at a house at half past 12 so I'd better get myself into respectable mode.
I.e. brush my hair and dress. Yay!

Oh, I did actually get outside yesterday by the way.
R's sis and brother-in-law took me to Mt Stewart!

Anyway. It has been a rather busy weekend as Friday was spent lonesomely but productively with a drawing. Saturday was fruit-salad, bikes and Zen time. I had Chicken Tobanyaki. Was alright. Spicy seafood soup for starter was better than the main. But hey. Went for some drinks afterwards which was great!! Especially since I never get out. :D
Sunday was late morning, Victoria Sponge baking, Mary Poppins watching and Sunday Dinner day.
Thought I'd get out of having Sunday Dinner since the in-laws are away but we got invited to sis-in-law instead. Was nice though! Sat there for a good while until we realised it was almost 9 o'clock. Yikes! Then we walked home and watched Dr Who on Iplayer.

Today is washing day. Later we are going to Birthday Girl's house for some celebrations!

I've been drawing since half past 2 and now my hand is sore! It has flown past though.

Easter Weekend and most people are off. R's mom and dad are away and R is working. I'm quite happy with sitting in tonight, spinning class last night took it out of me!
Seriously! That class is by the Devil! Couldn't breathe after half an hour!
Might go back... If it doesn't kill me!

Pork Tacos

Made from scratch is always the best way!
I did not think tacos would be following this rule though!

Today I made pork mince tacos! And they were so awesome! Far better than beef tacos!
It's always good to eat less beef, those cows fart a lot you know.
Anyway, they were truly delicious with nuances of sweet, bitter and spicy.

I used more cumin, less passata and had to drain quite a lot of fluid from it in the end but if you were Mexican and had your last supper, then I would go for this!

I'm gonna have wet dreams about this now. Haha.

Seriously though. Tomorrow I will tackle the Quiche. Hopefully it will contain bacon, peas, onion and cheese. But the future will tell! I always slag R off for not following recipes when I'm just as bad myself! Can't help tweaking nowadays. Oh well, if you know what works!
